Dear Mom and Dad,
Last night Ellie and Plekostomus came over to feed me dinner and bring me back across the street. Koko remembered the drill this morning, because as soon as Ellie attached my leash to my collar, he was out the door in a flash and headed for my (well, our) house. I was a good dog until we went through the fence and then – well, I can’t tolerate another dog in my (well, our) yard! I barked and barked and barked and barked and barked. Eventually he left, so clearly my barking was effective.
I haven’t touched my toys until this morning. That makes me think I’ve finally adjusted to your being gone. I’m happy to go across the street in the afternoons and I don’t sit by the side door crying in the evenings. In fact, I’ve discovered I like to lay down in the corner behind the armchair and sofa. It’s dark and cool back there, and it’s a good place to lay in wait to POUNCE on those strange “dogs.”
Ellie says you’ll be home later tonight! I can’t wait to see you!!!!!
